“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.”
~Katharine Hepburn

Are you a rule follower? I was. In fact, I was a rule seeker-outer. If the rules weren’t blatant to me, I’d search for them, make them up, create the boundaries – certain that by following them I’d do what is “right” and be okay.

It’s taken me years to realize that there is life outside the rules and great pleasure and newness to be found in coloring outside of the lines. Of course it’s important to obey rules some of the time, and perhaps to obey some rules all of the time, but there are certainly rules that were “made to be broken” and times when breaking out and trying something new is exactly what is necessary… and most fun.

Break a rule. See how it feels. Enjoy the fun.

Where would you have more fun if you didn’t obey all the rules?
