Inspiration can come from so many different places. This online advertisement, from an online content company, was forwarded to me by a friend. It has nearly 8 million views to date. And it’s good.
It takes less than 2 minutes to view and yet can have great impact. It “talks” about the power of words – the “what” we say as well as the “how” we say it. So often we challenge our clients (and ourselves) to be truly intentional with our words – to think through these three questions:
- What is our key objective?
- What are we trying to achieve as we speak or write to others?
- What words would best achieve this objective, and how should we deliver them?
These questions are simply and concretely addressed in this short clip, so take a moment and watch it. It could easily be that quick idea you remember when you’re not getting what you need from others around you. It might easily be the concept you turn back to to push you towards stating your cause – or asking for help – with words that are more likely to get others’ attention…and the results you need.
Let us know what you think.
